Björn Wahlroos
Portraits of Björn Wahlroos taken on assignment for Helsingin Sanomat.
It was a suntanned, debonair Björn Wahlroos that greeted us in his suite at the Connaught Hotel in Mayfair.
The interview by London correspondent Annamari Sipilä was in part about the release of Björn’s new book “Talouden kymmenen tuhoisinta ajatusta” roughly translated as ” Ten most destructive ideas of economy “.
“Tie or no tie” he asked when it was time for the photography “as you are, smart but casual” I replied. In fact most corporate portraits I take in the city nowadays are following the current London trend to wear a nice open-neck shirt with a jacket and pocket square.
I had taken images during the interview but they were mainly for future editorial use, my objective was to capture a few nice portraits which I felt I achieved by using just one soft light to his left, I needed to separate him from the background and this was achieved by placing a strobe on the floor behind him which illuminated the curtains.
