Victoria Coach Station is the UK’s Ellis Island
Images showing a recent story published in Sweden’s national newspaper Dagens Nyheter just before Christmas about Romanian and Bulgaria citizens who will now have the right to work freely in the UK as from tomorrow the 1st January 2014.
Reporter Marianne Björklund wrote an interesting impartial and unbiased report and made a comparison that London’s Victoria Coach Station is the UK’s equivalent of what Ellis Island was for the USA when immigrants arrived and entered America during the last century. Arriving by coach to Victoria Coach Station is a preferred choice of travel for many due to the generous baggage allowance.
A hundred or so Romanian and Bulgarian citizens held a demonstration near 10 Downing Street and ventilated their grievance against the negative publicity they have received in the British press.
