David Nuttall
On an assignment for Sweden’s largest morning newspaper Dagens Nyheter I met David Nuttall, Conservative MP and longstanding critic of the EU. The interview was about Britain’s future relationship with the European Union.
We met at Portcullis House which lies just a short walk from the main Palace of Westminster, it is used as offices for 213 Members of Parliament and their staff.
The courtyard of the building is quite amazing with its water features surrounded by fig trees all covered by a glass roof … unfortunately photography was not allowed and as time was very short we went outside and I took a couple of portraits using the Palace of Westminster in the background.
On a technical note: I wished to keep the Palace of Westminster out of focus with a large aperture which is difficult on a bright sunny day, I overcame this by using an off camera flash on high speed sync which enabled me to use an aperture of ƒ2.8.
