Corporate Event Photographer London
This was a fun corporate event to photograph for Yokohama Tyres and Chelsea FC.
In February the Japanese tyre firm Yokohama Rubber became Chelsea’s new shirt sponsor and when Yokohama held their recent global convention the choice of venue fell to their new partners stadium Stamford Bridge.
I knew that Chelsea FC did stadium tours and had its own museum what I did not know was that they also had a Conference Centre with conference rooms suitable for up to 900 delegates in The Great Hall and 400 in the Centenary Hall, including on-site facilities of 2 hotels – all within Stamford Bridge.
Some 200 delegates flown in from around the world attended the convention. My brief was to capture images of the delegates networking and mingling and also images of the 8 speakers including the directors.
Manager Jose Mourinho and 10 other first team players also attended. I later photographed a team shot of all the delegates in the stand from which I took from the pitch – its not everyday you walk out on the pitch at Chelsea FC.
The day finished with dinner at the Under The Bridge music & event venue also at Stamford Bridge. This was a great venue, the walls are adorned with a huge selection of framed limited addition prints of famous artists & bands dating back to the sixties, many of which were taken in London.
On the technical side, not for the first time I am really grateful that I use Nikon D4 cameras.
The convention room was extremely dark and the backdrop behind the speakers was black, the podium was lit by a strong halogen light which meant that even in the poor lighting conditions I had to under-expose. Many of the images were shot at ISO 12,500 … something that was considered impossible to achieve not so many years ago.
