Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson
It was a pleasure to have been assigned recently by ukactive to photograph Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and other executives at the ukactive headquarters.
The images of Tanni and the executives were taken in the backyard of the building … perhaps not the most glamorous of settings but I liked the colour and texture of the walls, the other benefit was that the backyard was in shade which took away any harsh shadows. Tanni was lit by just one light source in a soft-box to the side. The shoot was part of our on-location Portraits for Professionals package that we offer our clients.
The image of Tanni was used in conjunction with the announcement of Tanni becoming the new independent Chair of not-for-profit health body ukactive.
Athletics legend Tanni is one of the most successful British athletes ever – having won 11x Paralympic Gold Medals – and in 2010 was made a crossbench member of the House of Lords. With the formation of a new government this month, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson has said there “has never been a better time” to voice ukactive’s ‘more people, more active, more often’ message following her appointment as independent chair.
