Mobile Home Services
There are many companies in the UK that supply mobile services and come to your home which is extremely convenient and most have very reasonable prices – in part due to the fact that they do not have the large overhead costs conventional businesses have such as a business premise lease & rates.
The assignment was for the financial section of Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter who wanted to highlight a story about UK’s small business entrepreneurs – companies providing mobile home services in Sweden is not a common business form.
Some of the mobile services available that can come to your home include: Car Mechanic, Cycle Repair, Hairdresser, Dog Grooming, Car Valet, Dentist, Vet, Oven Cleaning and Furniture Repair.
Our choice to illustrate the story fell to Dog Grooming and we visited Nicky at Bark-Shear Grooming in Eton. Nicky has just started her business and already has a large order book, her custom equipped grooming van (complete with a therapeutic hydro bath with warm water and a hydraulic grooming table) enables her to travel to her clients and groom dogs right outside their home, when we visited she was washing Boxer dog Ruby.
