London Event Photographer
It was fun to have recently been behind the scenes on the day of the European Premiere of Michael Jackson’s THE IMMORTAL World Tour by Cirque du Soleil. I was part of quite a large press gathering that had access to meet the artists and performers just a couple oh hours before the opening show at the O2 Arena in London.
It was an organised chaos with many rehearsals and costume fittings … the lighting was really bad as flash couldn’t be used for the trapeze artists safety. In the dancing image above the artists were wearing costumes with 275 blinking LED lights specially designed for the show, they changed colour during the song to mimic constellations.
It was interesting to have met Travis Payne the American choreographer who also worked with Michael Jackson as the choreographer for the ‘This Is It show’ until Jackson’s death. I had only a few moments to photograph Travis … in what was complete darkness. I quickly asked a videographer who was standing nearby and asked him put his video light on Travis which he kindly did – problem solved and 20 seconds later I had my picture.
