Jeremy Corbyn Labour Leadership
More than 500 people turned up to see Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn in Barnsley, his 46th election rally on his Labour Leadership campaign trail.
The rally was held in the Miners Hall next door to the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) headquarters, the walls were adorned with old NUM banners. Jeremy held 2 speeches the first outside the hall for those that could not get into the hall and the second in the hall where he was greeted enthusiastically by his grassroots supporters.
The assignment was for Dagens Nyheter. Together with journalist Erik de la Reguera we went to one of Barnsley’s working mens clubs after the rally to meet with Labour supporters to hear their views and thoughts on Jeremy Corbyn.
Labour Leadership Campaign
A follow up story was about the hate campaign on social media by Labour members in the run up to the Labour leadership between the current Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn & Owen smith. At least 3,100 members of the Labour party have been excluded, suspended or deprived of voting in the last few months – many of whom have no idea as to why this has happened.
