A visa scheme to allow Hong Kong residents to come to the UK opened in January, with some 300,000 people expected to apply.
Those who hold a British National Overseas (BNO) passport will be allowed to live in the United Kingdom for five years and then apply for settlement and British citizenship after a further 12 months.
