Daisy Evans

This was an interesting assignment for Helsingin Sanomat to photograph the portraits of theatre & opera director Daisy Evans. The portraits were taken minutes before the first production of the silent opera Vixen at the Vaults London.
Daisy is the founder of Silent Opera – in an interview with Southwark News she says:
“It was while travelling around the capital Daisy observed ‘the legions of commuters on the tube and bus on their way to work every day. Almost all of them are plugged into an iPod, a phone, a tablet, living in their own head with their own personal soundtrack’. This inspired her in 2010 to found Silent Opera to ‘harness that individual experience and put it to use with musical narrative”.
