Corporate Portraits for Business Women
I recently received an enquiry from a Doha, Qatar based company who’s CEO was visiting London and wished for some new portraits to be taken.
I am very grateful for my editorial background where as a staff photographer we received many varied assignments every day – what it taught me was to work quickly and find a suitable location when in most circumstances nothing was available. The Cafe Royal Hotel where the shoot was to happen was such a location.
The hotel was very dark and the hotel reception and conference room were uninspiring, having scouted around for a few minutes I found a stairwell on the 7th floor which I felt would work and decided to take the images there.
I was pleased with the result, the wall & ceiling tungsten lighting gave a warm glow and the ornate decorated stairwell worked well …. in fact the colours and patterns made it feel like the images were taken in Doha rather than central London.
